A Bouquet of Events on Coronado
This weekend is filled with sunny good times to be had on
Coronado! Saturday, May 18, begins with the City of Coronado Boathouse free
Open House event, from 8 am to 1 pm; any guest over the age of 6 can enjoy free
demonstrations, raffle prizes, free snacks at the event. Head indoors from 12
pm to 1:30 pm for the Coronado Library’s Literary Tea, featuring a special
guest: Edgar Allen Poe! Learn about the author’s life and work from the man
himself (played by Travis Wilson) and pick up free tickets at the Library desk.
Wind down the day with song at a free pop-up concert from 2 – 4 pm at Adella
Plaza.
Sunday, May 19, kicks off with the Navy’s 33rd Coronado Bridge Run/Walk starting at 8:30 am until 12 pm. Register online for your one chance per year to see stunning views from atop Coronado bridge (and not from a car window) while
supporting a good cause for military personnel. If running isn’t your thing,
enjoy a free Coronado nature walk from 1:30 -2:30 pm at Silver Strand State
Beach and scope out native flora and fauna with the help of local guides (there
is a parking fee at the beach).
